About IxDA Seattle

As a local chapter of the not-for-profit entity, the Interaction Design Association, IxDA Seattle is chartered with advancing the discipline of interaction design for the local community as well as by supporting initiatives of the global organization.

The Seattle chapter has experienced steady growth over the last several years with membership increasing markedly year-over-year. This growth reflects the increasing importance of and attention given to interaction design and related disciplines.

Over the past few years we have forged important relationships with other local design organizations in order to bolster the overall impact of design in Seattle. We regularly support and collaborate with groups including Puget Sound SIGCHI, AIGA Seattle, and UXPA Seattle. This year, we joined a new collective of organizations to continue the success and tradition of the IA/UX Meetup. Along with UXPA Seattle, ASIS&T and AIGA Seattle we are able to keep this thriving Meetup community moving forward through shared management and curation.

Additionally, we have a thriving student chapter at the University of Washington as well as a new student chapter at Seattle Central Community College.

The organizational mission the IxDA Seattle committee supports:

We believe that the human condition is increasingly challenged by poor experiences.  IxDA intends to improve the human condition by advancing the discipline of Interaction Design. To do this, we foster a community of people that choose to come together to support this intention. IxDA relies on individual initiative, contribution, sharing and self-organization as the primary means for us to achieve our goals.

About the IxDA Board of Directors and Committee

The IxDA Seattle Board and Committee is a volunteer group comprising IxDA members. There is an amazing community of interest to tap into, and so much more we could be doing. We need your leadership and vision to keep the spirit of the organization alive and support its ability to provide platforms for the community to gather on and advance the discipline of interaction design together.
