This is a 1-year volunteer position on the board of IxDA Seattle where you’ll help develop the strategy for mentorship in our community.
This role involves collaborating with a number of board, committee members, and volunteers. We are looking for someone who is a self-starter and can work in ambiguity.
As Mentorship Chair, you will be responsible for the following:
Researching mentorship and leadership needs of the Seattle design community by talking to senior leaders, design newcomers, and everyone in between
Presenting findings and proposals to the board
Guiding the board to develop a vision around mentorship in the design community
Developing the strategy for IxDA Seattle’s mentorship work for 2020 onwards
As a chair member, you’ll also be expected to:
Work collaboratively with board members and volunteers
Dedicate 3-5 hours per week to IxDA Seattle’s work
It'll help if you enjoy and feel confident doing the following:
Qualitative and quantitative research
Working amid ambiguity with little oversight
Developing and implementing strategies in new and innovative ways
Accepting feedback and iterating on your work
Have 3-5 years of work experience in design, technology, or social services
We're excited for someone to inject new enthusiasm and develop a new line of work for IxDA Seattle.
