Seattle Web App Developer Group hosts "Using CSS Frameworks: Bootstrap, TopCoat, and Foundation"
Speaker: Noah Collins
Abstract:
CSS frameworks provide a consistent, well-tested, documented starting place for your project's UI layer. Join Noah Collins for an introduction to three of the most popular CSS frameworks: Bootstrap, Topcoat, and Foundation. During the presentation we will outline core concepts and then work through an example project. First, we will cover the features and advantages of using CSS frameworks, along with a brief comparison that highlights the unique strengths of each framework. Then Noah will guide you step-by-step through an example project, covering setup, structure, and workflows. Wrapping up, we'll discuss the future direction of CSS frameworks as web UIs move toward modular, component-based architecture.
The presentation will come with supporting documentation and examples. Following along on your laptop during the presentation is completely optional. If you plan to follow along, make sure you have these tools installed ahead of time: node.js, npm, grunt, and bower.
