Career growth doesn't have to be scary! Get a new perspective on a career growth challenge you're facing in just one hour.

This October, we’re launching our new “speed mentorship” event series. In one hour, you’ll get two perspectives on a career challenge you’re facing (or help another designer with their career growth questions). It’s low stakes and low pressure for both mentors and mentees.

You can sign up for this event as a Mentor or a Mentee. If your availability changes, please update us as we will need to adjust our matches before the event!

Event Format

5:50-6:05: Event opens + warm up activities

6:05-6:10: Introductions

6:10-6:35: First round of matching (25 minutes)

6:35-6:40: Regroup

6:40-7:05: Second round of matching (25 minutes)

7:05-7:15: Event wrap-up + closing activity

Mentors

• Who: people in the interaction/UX design field who are mid-level or higher (6+ years)

• What: take an hour of your time to listen and provide your perspective on a career challenge or growth question. No need to prepare anything in advance!

• Why: It’s a quick and easy way to help a fellow designer work through a tricky problem—and potentially transform their career.

Mentees

• Who: people mid-career or newer (under 6 years)

• What: bring a career growth challenge or question you have. You’ll drive the session, so please come prepared with a specific question or focus

• What you could cover: ask a specific career growth question; advice on a specific career growth scenario you’re facing, like becoming a manager; ask your mentor about their career growth and best pieces of advice
